Earndit News and Fitness Tips

Once again, the drawing for a pair of Brooks running shoes was an extremely popular reward among the Earndit community.   The gracious people at Brooks decided to give away two pairs of shoes this time, so we had two lucky winners!  It’s interesting to note that most people who entered the drawing bought several entries.

Thank you all very much for participating, and please join me in thanking Brooks for their commitment to encourage Earndit members to stay active.  Brooks makes state-of-the-art running shoes and we’re delighted to see the positive reaction from the Earndit community.

In a startup, founders always have to prioritize certain enhancements and product ideas over others. We currently have a huge list of developments we plan to make to Earndit in the next 6 months. For a while there’s been a glaring hole in the Earndit experience that we’ve been wanting to fill, and now we can say it’s been addressed. You can now easily search for other Earndit members via a search box in the “Rankings” page (aka the leaderboard page).

Just type in someone’s first OR last name, and you’ll see a list of possible matches from the Earndit community. From that list you can view an individual’s profile and then click the “Follow” button that’s on his or her profile page.

We hope you’ll use this new search function to find other members to follow for inspiration!

That’s right!  A free pair of running shoes.  Any pair of Brooks shoes you want!  We’ll be holding a drawing on November 9th, and begin accepting entries on Tuesday, October 26th.  You can enter the drawing by redeeming 200 points, and then you’ll get an extra spot if you tweet or Facebook post about your entry in the drawing (we’ll let you know how to do that once you redeem your 200 points).  You can find more details here.  Good luck!

Hey Earndit members, we just caught wind of a nice offer Ebates is giving to anyone who signs up for their cash-back program, and we thought to tell you about it.  For those that don’t know, Ebates is an amazing online resource that allows you to get cash back on pretty much everything you buy online.  If you start at Ebates and shop at any of their 1200+ retail partners, you’ll get back a percentage of whatever you spend (usually around 3-6%, but it can be as high as 20% or more).  Ebates then sends you a check every three months for what is in your account. So it’s pretty much free money.

The deal we found out about is that Ebates is putting $10 into the account of anyone who signs up through the link www.ebates.com/workout.  That’s not a bad way to start off getting cash back for your purchases.

Hi everyone.  We’ve been hard at work enhancing your user experience and trying to make Earndit as awesome as possible.  To that end, here are the latest improvements:

• Upgrade to the latest version of Nike’s API
• Extra data capture of Nike+ activities
• Beta version of support for the EveryTrail app (some of you can already add it from your “Profile & Devices” page, but you should download the app first).  Once the beta trial is over, we will roll it out to everyone.
• New listing of your activities (see screenshot below showing how to access it)
